DESCRIPTION:Previous Refuge Gallery Exhibits\n					 \nIntroduction and about Refuge Gallery\nThe Refuge Gallery serves as a venue for exhibitions of artistic work relating to humanitarian and social justice issues. Using art as a means to illuminate\, educate and provoke\, the Refuge Gallery seeks to bring the Fordham community closer to the injustices experienced by our fellow global citizens. \nOur vision is to create a stimulating environment encouraging of cultural and artistic inquiry through a social justice lens for our students\, neighbors\, artists\, and the humanitarian sector — not only at the Institute but at Fordham University as a whole. The Refuge Gallery is an extension of the work at the IIHA. Self-guided tours are available at our Refuge Gallery address.  \n \nAbout “When Life Came to a Standstill: Pictures of Climate Change” by RK Sreejith \nSreejith has used photojournalism to illustrate the human toll of climate change\, highlighting specifically the catastrophic damage done to the Indian state of Kerala in both the 2024 Wayanad landslides and the 2018 Kerala floods.  \nArtist Introductions \nRK Sreejith\nR K Sreejith is a photojournalist with 25 years of experience\, having worked with leading publications such as The New Indian Express (10 years)\, Deccan Chronicle (1 year)\, and The Times of India (13 years). A graduate in Economics with a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication\, he combines editorial insight with strong visual storytelling expertise. \nVisit Us\nThe Refuge Gallery is open to all for viewing Monday – Thursday 10 am-4pm or by appointment.
