Can you speak a little bit about your humanitarian background and what courses you are teaching this semester?

I am a Head of Mission with Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors without Borders and have been working internationally for over 10 years. I have worked in various humanitarian contexts and served communities in the Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan, Papua New Guinea, Bangladesh, and most recently Ukraine. I will be teaching two courses this year – The Past, Present and Future of the Humanitarian System, and the International Humanitarian Internship Seminar. This semester will be discussing the large changes in US funding of humanitarian aid and the effects on populations in crisis, and the humanitarian system. We will also have guest speakers from DRC, Gaza, and Sudan, to provide updates and analysis of the ongoing humanitarian responses.
