Tracy Dufault serves as Senior Vice President of Strategic Initiatives – Disaster Relief at Walmart. As part of her role, Dufault supports the company’s disaster resilience strategy, leveraging Walmart’s supply chain, operations, and partnerships to help communities prepare for – and recover from – natural disasters. She graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point and has an MBA from Harvard Business School. Dufault is able to apply Walmart’s scale and operational expertise to deliver meaningful impact when and where it matters most.
Tracy discusses her role and how she communicates with staff during disasters. She describes the response to severe storms in West Virginia, crediting staff members for how they stepped up. We ask Tracy how she takes her experience as an Army aviator and applies it to her current position. We also ask about partnerships Walmart has with nonprofits and how the company works with local government leaders to respond in times of crisis.
