About Alex J. Dunne:
Alex Jonathon Dunne is an international and humanitarian affairs specialist with over a decade of experience in humanitarian operations, ethics, and the maintenance of international peace and security. He has worked with Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF) in Yemen, Iraq, and across the Middle East, leading responses in some of the world’s most complex humanitarian emergencies. Alex has also served as a senior advisor to the governments of Ireland, Denmark, and Malta during their respective terms on the United Nations Security Council, focusing on humanitarian affairs and international humanitarian law. He holds an MSc in Humanitarian Action and Public Health from the University of Manchester’s Humanitarian and Conflict Response Institute.

Join the Institute of International Humanitarian Affairs (IIHA) on April 30th at 4:00 pm for a conversation with Alex Jonathon Dunne. He will talk about his experience in humanitarian operations in Yemen, Iraq, and across the Middle East, as well as the ethics and maintenance of international peace and security through the United Nations Security Council. He’ll also talk about how he has navigated his career in the humanitarian sector. This is an opportunity for peer-to-peer networking and networking with humanitarian professionals. Limited seating is available. This is for Fordham students only.
